July 1st, 2015, China Agricultural University (CAU) joined BioMed Central’s Membership Program. Since then, all the researchers from CAU could receive a 15% discount on their APCs (article-processing charge) when publishing with any BioMed Central or SpringerOpen journal.

In order to better promote open access, to increase international visibility of research results from CAU, and to help researchers to publish in academic journals, BioMed Central co-organized the “Open Access Week” from June 23rd to 26th with the university library. The on-campus activities included the exhibition of banners created for CAU about open access, and two workshops of “How to Get Your Research Published”, aiming to provide face-to-face service for CAU researchers.

BioMed Central’s Membership Program aims to promote open access within the institution as well as saving publication budget. BioMed Central now has over 520 Membership institutions in 57 countries. Members in China now include Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy or Medical Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, China Agricultural University etc.
